Can I come and have a look round and try out the facilities before I join?
Yes of course you can!
Please send an email to tennis@ktscc.co.uk and we can arrange for you to look round the clubhouse and attend a couple of free sessions.
How do I join the club and how much is it to join?
Joining fees and details of how to pay are on the ‘How to Join’ section of the website.
You can join part way through the year and you can pay the full fee up front or pay by standing order. Once you have paid you will be provided with an entry card to allow you to access the front door of the club.
There is the opportunity to join as an off-peak member that restricts your use of the courts to weekdays only before 6pm and after 1:30pm weekends. You can also join as a combined tennis and squash member – see ‘How to join’ section on website.
How do I know at what level I am playing?
You may prefer a taster session with one of the club’s coaches who can give you some suggestions about which session would best suit you. Contact James Roe on 07958278304.
How do I go about getting involved and arranging games?
If you are happy to turn up and join in, there are a number of social play sessions during the week and at weekends or the regular coaching sessions. There is usually someone around to get any new faces involved. If you prefer you can contact Paul to meet you up at the club and introduce you.
You’ll quickly get to meet people and arrange to play in a fixed four and/or try out for one of the teams if you are interested.
Social Play (turn up with a tube of balls and mix in) – attendance tends to be better during the spring and summer months when the weather is better:
Men’s night – Monday 6.30pm
Ladies Night – Tuesday 6.30pm
Mixed coach-led night – Wednesday 6.30pm (during the summer a coach will put people into fours and ensure players move round)
What coaching opportunities are there?
James Roe and the team of coaches run regular group coaching sessions – see details on attached timetable.
Alternatively you can arrange one to one sessions on a one off or regular basis. Just contact the coaching team numbers above or on the board in the clubhouse.
I’m interested in joining one of the teams – how do I get involved?
As a club we play men’s and ladies’ doubles teams in a number of local leagues – both Summer and Winter and vets teams.
If you would like more information about team practices please email tennis@ktscc.co.uk
How do I get involved in club competitions? When do these take place?
There are a number of handicapped and open club competitions during the year as well as social tournaments. The dates for these are posted on the website and on the board in the clubhouse.
Rules and entry requirements are posted on the club boards and all you need to do is sign up.
Do I have to book a court if I want to play?
Yes you have to book a court to play through the court booking system (my.ktscc.co.uk).
Is there a dress code for playing?
The dress is not overly strict but it should be of a sporting nature and you must wear the right shoes.
When I become a member can I bring visitors to play?
Yes we welcome visitors but we ask that the same guest doesn’t play more than 3 times a year.
When booking the court please tick the guest box and add the persons details.
A charge of £6 will be made to your account so make sure you have some credit.
What social facilities are there?
The bar in the clubhouse is open to members. The opening times are:
Monday – Sunday 4pm – 9pm
What social activities are there during the year?
Members are informed of forthcoming social activities during the year via E-mail and also through posters round the club. Tickets for events are usually available from behind the bar or from the organisers.
Events include tournament teas, junior BBQs, Quiz nights, Casino night (autumn), Summer dine and dance event.
We look forward to welcoming you as a member!
